"mafia" and metamorphosis

I had such a good time tonight at Danette and Richard's place. I love them to death. Heh heh...speaking of death, we played "Mafia" tonight (if you're familiar w/that game). I can't believe my friends accused me of being a murderer. With friends like that, who needs enemies??? (Don't worry, it was all just a game...don't take this seriously.)

Actually, I had a really good time just hanging out w/friends. It was sort of a small, semi-spontaneous, semi-surprise belated birthday bash for me. It turned out to be just what I needed...a relaxing time w/a couple of friends. No pressures, no worries, no expectations from myself nor from others. It was a nice change of pace. A few years ago I would have thought that I would have liked a huge party for my 30th birthday w/tons of people and a great big deal made about me. But as it rolled around, I realized I didn't really need that. I was quite content w/the way things turned out.

Maybe that's part of how Europe's changed me a bit. I think it's mellowed me out a bit. And I've had a lot of time to myself and have gotten used to that. I guess I'm not quite the social butterfly that I used to be. And that's ok. It just takes some getting used to-- for others-- and --for me.

Welcome!!! This is my brand-new birthday gift from Julie Chow! Pretty cool, huh? THANKS, JULES! I feel so loved. :)

I hoping that this will be helpful to those of you who want to keep up w/my travels. I'll probably keep this a little less formal and a lot more random than the emails i've been sending out to supporters. I don't mind if you give out my website to other friends/famiy but use some discretion, 'k? I don't really wanna deal w/any weirdos at this point in my life. Thanks.

Big news of the week: I didn't take my flight to Europe as planned. I'm staying in the States for a tour or two. Don't really wanna discuss the details here 'cause I wanna keep things short. Talk to me or email me personally (aimeslo@hotmail.com) if you wanna know more, k? Basically, it's been a tough year for me in Europe (--even though I wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world--) and I just needed some time back in the States to regain some strength and be refreshed a bit.

So...there ya go. Here I am: back in the States. I have alot of mixed feelings. Mostly, I'm happy about it but I'm also having a bit of a hard time readjusting and explaining to people. And, I miss Poland, too.

Oh yeah, Jules... an extra thanks to you b/c you unknowingly gave me another wonderful gift by putting that link to that Bible website...they have a Polish translation of the Bible and that's something very precious to me! Thank you!

Ok. Better get some sleep before church tomorrow. :)

Oh! One more thing: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNAH YU!!!
