i think we've got guardian angels...
we picked up our van today-- five days after it went in. we didn't pay a penny. God has taken really good care of us, I tell ya. we had awesome hosts lend us their vehicle this wk while ours was being looked at. they also paid for all the parts and the Christian mechanic donated the labor. we're still on the lookout for a new vehicle but ours was getting on the unsafe to drive side.

despite people telling us "Actually, your van seems to be pretty decent mechanically" we discovered quite the contrary. The mechanic says someone's really been watching over us because our van could have fallen apart anytime. One hard bump is all it would have taken to risk the steering pump coming right off or possibly the tie rod coming right off. Pray for our safety as we have a long drive coming up this week (about 13 hours). We have to go up a steep and curving mountainous pass as well.

praise God for all the incredible miracles He's worked for us already, though. Man, I've just been so incredibly blessed by all the support our team has received from our headquarters as well as home churches. Family/friends from CEFC have been so incredibly (and I do mean incredibly) gracious and giving. I've been completely floored by the responses/donations we've received. We're on our way to another vehicle.

i think my body's revolting against me...
i woke up w/a migraine this morning but the pain subsided a bit after going back to sleep. that "just got run over by a train" feeling lingered throughout the whole day/evening though. my body is also not taking to the climate very well. it has been very hard on my arthritis and i ache a great deal.

guess i'd better get to sleep before my body rebels some more.

one month later...
i can't believe it's been that long since i last wrote...yeah, life's been crazy (as usual)... juneau, alaska is great. we've been very well taken care of here. i got to soak in a nice tub w/candles, a cup of coffee, classical music...the whole works. :) boy, did i need the de-stressing.

does anyone want to donate a new vehicle?
just thought i'd ask...we picked up our van last week (five weeks into tour). we had been ferrying and being shuttled around by hosts previous to that. i thought life would get simpler after we picked up our van only to find that it's kinda sorta falling apart...rust, mildew, mold, doors that don't like, doors that don't close all the way, hardly any insulation, etc., etc...so we're raising funds for a new vehicle now and we'd like to have it before we have to do our next long drive up treacherously steep paths. so we're praying for miracles and i'm making vehicle donation appeals like crazy. never been in this position before.
trial by fire, i tell ya. what a way to initiate a new team leader, eh? (argh i'm saying "eh" already and we haven't even gone into Canada yet. must be Josie's fault!)
i suppose i should try to get some sleep.
