Another Unit Transfer...
Yep, the third one this tour for me. As of yesterday, I'm no longer w/the Gulf Coast Unit. Arriving in Austin, TX at 6am (after a layover in Dallas from 10:15pm- 2:00am), I dragged myself off the Greyhound bus and joined up with the Texas Unit. (That was after I found out that one of my bags-- which had all my scheduled performances and PR records and a computer for the Marquette team-- the original team I was sent out to lead this tour-- was missing. I got it back today, praise the Lord.)
My team leader is Bev Jun Jordan and I've been reunited with Liliana (whom I toured with 2 yrs ago in Scandinavia). Lil is one of my best friends in this ministry-- a very very very special sister to me-- a soul mate in many ways. Bev was my mentor when I was touring in Alaska and she was part of the world headquarter staff. Both are very dear to me so if I had to be transferred anywhere, this was a great place to be transferred to.
That's not to say that it wasn't difficult to leave the Gulf Coast Unit. Even though I was only there for a short time (--less than 2 wks--) it was such a special time. We really bonded and it was very heart-wrenching to have to leave them-- especially Xochil who's been with me since September. We lost it when we had to say bye finally-- lots of tears. I cried for a quite a while on the bus, too.
I'm thankful for my time w/them, though. And I think that if I had known I was only going to be with them for that short a time, we would have held back a bit of ourselves. But we didn't know that and so we really dove into it thinking that we would have the rest of tour together. And I'm glad we did. That's the way it should be. It shouldn't matter that we had only two wks as opposed to five weeks together. That shouldn't limit how much people give of themselves. After all, what's the difference between two weeks and two years in the grand scheme of things? It's all like the blink of an eye on the timeline of eternity.
Gosh, I'm so cheezy. But you know what I'm saying. I'm not one to really hold back when it comes to relationships, I guess.
Anyway, enough of this grandiose philosophizing and self-analysis. Sleeps kind of important-- esp. considering that I've only had 7 hours of it in the last 60hours.

Last night in Milltown, WI...
Tonight was our last night in Milltown, WI (home of Amanda's parents). It was really good seeing Amanda and Jordan again. I was a little nervous about what it was going to be like after they had gone off road (due to Amanda's pregnancy) but it turned out fine. Xochil and I missed them alot while we were away. Although it had only been a week and a half since we had left their place, it felt like a really long time because so many changes had taken place and we had been in so many different places since then. (Performances in four different areas.)
One of the biggest changes is that Xochil and I will be joining another unit, the Gulf Coast Unit which covers Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas, I think. (We won't get to all those places in these last 5 weeks of tour.) I have alot of mixed feelings. Part of me is glad to not have to finish up as a two-person unit. Part of me is sad to leave the area though-- particularly the condition it's been left in. I'm pretty stressed right now because we have so much to tie up before we can leave. I'm thankful though that it looks like it will work out so that I can continue to try to PR (contact people/places to book for the next team) for the Marquette Unit (the unit we're leaving) while performing with the Gulf Coast Unit.
I should go. I've got tons of packing to do. We had north 3hrs to leave the van at other CP-ers place and then take Greyhound down to Florida on Saturday (Nov. 13). A lot of changes in a very short time.
I should get to sleep soon. I'm not real big on alcoholic beverages (even after touring in Europe) but I did have a mixed drink Jordan made me tonight in honor of our last night here. I feel really slow but I when I went to my bed to go to sleep my brain couldn't quite shut off completely. So here i am...rambling away...
Well...time to go...
