parties, parties & more parties...

here's a list of the parties so far...debbie's b.d. party friday afternoon, victor & karena's new year eve party last night, liz's winter bbq/ passing the bar exam party...and i missed danette's surprise party thursday (b/c word didn' t get to me in time!!!)...and the fun's not over...tomorrow i go to another b.d./ welcome back party. phew!

i'm lovin' seeing everyone again-- even though naturally, i don't neccessarily have the deepest conversations w/people in that sort of setting-- but it's fun. all the parties have been great. and it's also fun to observe how people's interaction w/each other have changed through the years, too.

i'm kinda tired, though from all the socializing. i've discovered that i actually find it kind of draining when all i do is have fun, and even relaxing too much can be draining to me. i know that sounds contradictory but i don't think it is. i think God set a very good example for us when he created the world in six days and then rested on the seventh. i don't think we neccessarily have to be super-strict and legalistic about it, but i do think it speaks to the need for us to have a good balance between work and rest (and play-- which may or may not be rest). besides, mentally i enjoy my play time more when i've done some work. i guess i feel like i deserve it and my mind is more free to put my never-ending work on hold momentarily.

speaking of rest...i must have one of the weirdest sleep schedules i know of. let's just take the last few days for example...5 hrs three nights ago, 2 hrs two nights ago, TEN & A HALF hrs last night, and probably just 3 hrs tonight. is that not messed up or what??? i think i threw myself off again by sleeping in until 2pm today. ok. i should try to sleep. i've got an early morning...complements of my dad asking me to play flute for the mandarin service. this should be fun sitting in on the mandarin service considering the extent of my mandarin (hi, bye, thank you, 1-2-3...)-- you get the picture...
