quite the week... it's been quite the week...Holy Week is quite a hectic time in Cov. Players-- and yet it's such a special time. The plays that we're blessed to be able to perform this week (--plays set in Biblical times highlighting what it may have been like to experience Jesus' last days as a follower-- particularly Mary Magdalene and Martha for us females) have given me a deeper understanding of the significance of this events we commemorate this week. Tonight we'll have our last Holy Week performance celebrating His Resurrection. it's also been quite the week for me b/c as we scrambled to get plays together in the midst of a busy performance and travel schedule, tensions and differences rose as patience and grace went down. lots of clashes this week. but i think we have a better understanding of each other now. amy's adventures in London...we finally got a day off (--well mostly except for a short spot of rehearsing) and we'll take another one on Monday 'cuz as i've said-- it's been a crazy week. London isn't officially a part of our missioning area(-- another team covers it). I wish it were though. No, on second thought, i think i'd go broke here. too much to do and see and experience here. I love it. Yep, i'm definitely a city girl. if i thought about it earlier and planned, i could have caught a matinee of Les Miserables right in London for £12.50 (about $25). But as it was a last minute idea (not looked into until early evening) i couldn't catch any shows worth watching w/available tickets left. Bummer. That's ok. I had a little adventure and rode the sub and train (--all my friends back home know i never take public transport-- i'm from LA for goodness sakes). It was kinda exciting actually. I felt so independent and brave! (When I was little it took a lot of courage just to ask a waiter for a glass of water!) It was great...time flew...I treated myself to a nice meal at a nice Italian restaurant (--everyone should have a fancy date on their own sometime)..I went to see Buckingham Palace, caught part of a mass at Westminster Cathedtral (--gorgeous singing), and saw the Westminster Abbey as well. I left at 7:40pm and didn't come home til 12:13am! Agh...gotta go. We've got three hrs of travel before our evening performance. Happy Easter! He is Risen!!!

praise & prayer requests in a nutshell...

PRAISES:
1) Last three days performing at Lakenheath Elementary School on military base.
2) Christians on the military base-- they're so on fire. I found it absolutely refreshing.
3) Bookings...while serving at the elem. school we visited the chaplains and booked a performance for Sun. May 22nd. They were so excited about our ministry and we're really excited about theirs.
4) Holy Week coming up. Very special time of remembering what Christ went through for us-- and His resurrection. Cov. Players' plays for Holy Week has given me a deeper understanding of what His follower may have experienced.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
1) Scrambling to get these plays together. Lots of line learning. Pray esp. for Alex in this area.
2) Scrambling to get music together too.#
3) Safety in our travels. We'll be doing quite a bit this week. Palm Sunday is in Wales, Good Friday is in London and Easter Sunday is in Birmingham.
4) Being like-minded on our unit. We've had more disagreements lately.
5) Humility.
6) Missing Poland and various people alot lately.

Ok. I'm late. Gotta get back to the house and pack up. We're heading to Wales now!

my day off...
Although i didn't sleep so well last night and i wasn't able to sleep in as much as i wanted to, it was still a good day of rest. We're staying with an American family who originally came over to serve on the Air Force Base here in Lakenheath,Suffolk (England). He's really laid back and really wants us to make ourselves at home. It's nice to have our day off in a place where we can really feel free to just be ourselves and relax and not worry so much about being extremely polite and proper (-- not that we all of a sudden become rude-- we're just a little more relaxed). It's been nice to have a little taste of America again. Last night he took us on the military base and it was really fascinating to me. For that time you're there, you forget you're in England. You're surrounded w/Americans, you have the commissary that's filled with American food and other products-- you feel like you're in a little American mall. Weird. It's been great to have American junk food too. I started off my day right w/Ramen! Oh, and I made a cup of "yin yang" (half coffee, half tea) -- getting back to the Hong Kong roots on my mom's side. Then I read my usual devotional and then listened and took notes on a sermon tape for the next hour. Then I took a really long walk and stopped at a phone booth to make a few calls. I tried calling my friend Josie who I haven't spoken to in ages. She wasn't there, unfortunately but I left her three rambling messages which I'm sure she'll just love. (Most friends who've gotten msgs from me know how much i can ramble on.) Then I called home and had a really good time talking w/my mom who's a super prayer warrior. (Turns out-- as it has many times in the past-- that we've been praying similar prayers lately.) I also got to hear my baby nephew Aaron over the phone which always makes me happy. :) Then we had dinner, watched two really good episodes of "JAG" and then watched "Spiderman 2" (--I'm sure there'll be a "Spiderman 3"). I haven't watched TV/movies in a really long time so that was kinda nice. Made me feel like a normal human being again!

And it's been great to be able to catch up on some emails today and last night. I haven't had a chance to do that in a really long time. All in all, a great day! I just didn't get to my line-learning (--lots of new plays to put together for Holy Week)...but I guess it was supposed to be a day off, after all. Oh, and great news! We picked up a booking for Sunday evening (--a service for Military men). I'm looking forward to this week on the military base serving for 3 days in the Elementary School. It'll be the first time in my five years w/Covenant Players that I'll actually get to do that! Yea! New venue!
