Clouds Clearing Up in Cracow (Krakow)...

Yesterday, I finally started to feel a bit more like myself again...a little more cheerful. I think I've become somewhat of a cynic in the last few wks...quite a contrast to how a friend of mine once dubbed me "an eternal optimist". It's not that I was cynical about everything in life but it is true that I feel like there have been clouds hanging over me these last few weeks and it's been hard to see the brightness of things around me. But yesterday was the first time in a while where I really started to enjoy life around me again.
It's so silly but what really helped was the surprise of a joyous town festival we stumbled upon in Krakow-- complete with traditional costumes, traditional dances, and traditional music in the old market square. I really enjoyed myself there and there was so much life happening all around me that I think it did my soul/spirit good.
It was also wonderful to stay w/Liliana's family again-- a regular stop on my tours in Poland. This time, being there with Liliana felt like a couple days I spent there a few years ago during Winter Break. It was really nice to be back and it helped me to relax a bit again.

This weekend's gonna be crazy busy-- lots of performing (in Polish). A huge Easter service on Saturday night (10:30pm-1:00am), an Easter morning service on Sunday at 10am, and an evangelistic outreach on Resurrection Monday afternoon. Busy, but wonderful. I love the plays we're doing for these programs and I love performing with this unit. We'll be joined by my former unit leader and friend, Darek on Saturday night and it'll be a treat to be directed by him again. We're now in my favorite town in all of Poland: Wisla. I expect that this will be a bit of a strange week for me in some ways, but I'm also expectant of good things too. Holy Week has always been a very special time in my journey with the Lord. Perhaps it will bring New Life for me too.
