...i've had no time to myself.  

we're at the end of our day -- our "day off"... only it didn't really feel like a day off. in the end, i didn't have any time to myself, and that's been rough. and of course, as it turns out, i'm sharing a room. and i think my team leader needs a room to herself more than me at this point, but still, it's not always easy to leave in 24/7 community and to be socializing almost the entire day -- even when you are a people person.

introvert or extrovert? ask one person and they'll tell you i'm one. ask another and they'll tell you i'm the other. i came out w/the exact same number of points on extrovert as i did for introvert when i took a personality profile in junior high, and i'll bet it's still the same. i love being around people, i get a buzz from it. and yet at the same time, i need my down time, on my own. and i haven't had that for days and days now. it's one of the sacrifices we make in this ministry but some days it's harder than others. today was one of them. particularly, because it's one thing i look forward to on my "Sabbath" days.

it's been a very "charged" last couple of days (as they say in French). we've had pretty intensive French playdates with lots and lots of new plays put together.  i'm pretty tired. even though i had the opportunity to sleep in this morning, i'm worn out again -- with a bit of a drive, change in host homes, and general stress around me (which then affects me), i'm tired.

i'll spend some time tonight, with my headphones on, listen to some worship music or Polish Christian music, journal, read my Bible, and hopefully, I'll find some rest.

one highlight: eating ice-cream topped w/a mountain of whipped cream by the lake in Evian, France. At least we took 20 minutes out of our day to do that. my whipped cream got all over the place and my trousers are stained w/chocolate ice-cream now, but i had a great time  laughing about it -- simple pleasures.  

the part of Switzerland that we were in (Valais) and the part of France we're now in (Haute Savoie) is really beautiful. i would just really like to have the time somehow to enjoy it.
