my 20th country with Covenant Players...
Last Friday evening, I added a 20th country to my list of countries/provinces I've performed in with Covenant Players. We had a really special time performing at a computer/missions conference held in the Netherlands (ICCM -- International Conference on Computing & Mission). Kevin was there for the whole conference and the rest of us (the three ladies) joined them just for the last day and a half. We performed that evening with a program especially designed to uplift and encourage those who were weary in ministry. This was an awesome group of people joining together from several countries to spur one another on and to brainstorm together on how to reclaim God's Kingdom using their technological giftings. The theme was "Being a Light in a Digital Age" and although I'm not a huge real techno-savvy person, I was deeply touched by their love for the Lord and desire to use their expertise for His glory.
I had the opportunity to sing one of our Covenant Players Catalysts' songs there, "He Loves the Wounded Soldier" (written by Christina Morris Tanner) and it was a gift to be able to offer that in ministry to the people there and for the Lord's use. One man in particular shared how it touched his heart deeply and he cried. For the first time, the knowledge of God's love and presence during a long dry spell went from his head to his heart.
We're now in a city called Dordrecht, the oldest official city in the Netherlands. We're staying with a really fun couple, Shari & Maarten. (Shari's American and Maarten is Dutch.) It's just really refreshing to be in a place where we all feel free to be ourselves and we don't feel the pressure of being on our best "host home behaviour."
I'll have to get some pictures up soon. We have a fourth member of our unit now. Tabea (who I missioned with in 2008 on a French-speaking unit) joined us a few weeks ago but I never got to writing about it. I hope everyone's doing well. Update me when you have a chance!
