Sorry... Haven't had internet since returning to Germany until now...
Today's adventure (written 11 July)...
Trying to trap a tiny mouse that my roomate & I found in the house where we're house-sitting! (Mom, you'd be freaked out but it actually was kinda cute.) It just wasn't so cute in that it was crawling around a pile of dirty laundry I had sitting in the cellar by the washing mashine. Seeing a mouse on your underwear & shorts isn't exactly a sight you'd expect (nor want) to see everyday. Gross, huh?
Anyway, I prep'd an old blog on the 23rd of June but I didn't have internet access to send it until now. So enjoy!
Happy Birthday, Ricky!!!
Happy Almost Birthday, Sharon!!!
From the 23rd of June...
Back in Germany...
Well, I just landed an hour ago & I'm waiting to be picked up here in Stuttgart.
Break felt so short this time. I mean, I only had 11 days -- and I spent three of those days in San Francisco w/my lil sis & another day was spent at Disneyland. (See pics from both.) Appointments w/various doctors filled up some more time. And of course, there are people to meet with -- friends to catch up with. In the end, I didn't get to everything and everyone I wanted to get to, but people back home are pretty understanding of all the demands of this lifestyle.
At Disneyland (& California Adventure -- my first time there!), we celebrated "Andrew Day". Some friends (Chauna & Eric Stapleberg and Sue Garfield) put in a lot of work to surprise Drew (as I call him) with an elaborate day of surprises. It was really special. Drew was one of my favorite people in Covenant Players but he just finished up his last mission w/the ministry & went back to Canada the following day. So it was a gift to be able to spend his last full day in the States having a great time at D-land/Cali adventure.
My time w/my sis Bonnie was also really special. She really spoiled me w/great food & great places to enjoy a fun as well as relaxing time. We went kayaking @Point Reyes & we also went hiking near Land's End. Two really beautiful & unspoiled places to marvel at God's creation.
Singing & playing flute w/the worship team was of course another joy for me as was playing w/my nephew & niece. But I felt kinda bad since we didn't have much time to go out & do something special. (Oh, we did squeeze in Toy Story 3 though, which I highly recommend!) Pixar Studio is brilliant!
I guess I don't have anything deeply philosophical to write right now. I've been on two planes for a total of 13 1/2 hours of flying and I only slept one hour the night before and a total of 2 1/2 semi-dozing hours on the plane. So yeah, I'm pretty exhausted & not at my most brilliant self. But just wanted to check in & let everyone know I'm alive & put up some happy pictures. :)
And now... I gotta get ready for a packed summer of Covenant Player training time! Whoo hoo!
